Barb and Ken Wardius, authors of Wisconsin Lighthouses: A Photographic and Historical Guide, return to share the remarkable story of Georgia Green Stebbins. A sickly young woman from New York City, Georgia came to Milwaukee’s North Point Lighthouse in the mid-1800s to care for her ailing lighthouse keeper father. She went on to become an exceptional lighthouse keeper herself—at a time when few women held such roles. Georgia ultimately became the longest-serving keeper at North Point. Join us to learn more about her inspiring life. Free to attend, no registration required.
